Background.

In 2016 the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) was born, and it was identified that there was a need to bring the sector together to debate the big issues in the industry, share best practice and ultimately to progress the sector’s development.

Plan of action.

The event has been designed to:

  • Deliver high-value content that provides new business intelligence, shares best practice and introduces new innovations for those attending
  • Attract a rich mix of attendees to create the best networking experience – the event is attended by the vape industry, parliamentarians, investors, academia, public health professionals, compliance specialists, regulators, industry trade bodies, political think tanks and ancillary service providers
  • Address head on the big issues of the day in the vaping sector
  • Attract top speakers who are experts in areas such as public health, consumer behaviour, regulation and legislation, tobacco harm reduction and environmental management
  • Incorporate an awards ceremony which recognises and celebrates the contributions of individuals, vaping companies and regulators to the responsible development of the sector

Results.

  • The annual Forum has run for the last seven years including at the QEII, one of London’s biggest and most prestigious conference centres.
  • The event is now seen as the go to UK event internationally – some 500 people attended the Forum and Awards
  • Speakers have included ministers, Lords, members of parliament, regulators and public health experts.
  • The Forum attracts significant interest from the T1 national, trade and retail media.
