Richard Tice MP used his UKREiiF appearance to set out a clear message to the property sector: Britain needs to get building again, and that means trusting developers to deliver. His remarks focused on getting bricks and mortar back on track, cutting delay and putting shovels in the ground where regeneration is most needed.
The Reform UK Deputy Leader argued that growth will not come from process alone, but from enabling those with the capital, skills and appetite to build. He placed particular emphasis on SME builders, saying smaller developers must be supported to revive town centres, unlock stalled sites and bring brownfield land back into productive use. The focus, he stressed, should be brownfield first, not unnecessary expansion into greenfield land.
Tice also underlined Reform’s growing local government presence. With more than 2,400 councillors across England, the party is becoming a serious force in local decision making. That matters for planning, regeneration and investment, particularly in councils under no overall control where political cooperation will often decide whether schemes move forward or stall.
His central message was that councillors must work together to drive growth, rather than allow local politics to block delivery. At a time when housing, town centre decline and infrastructure delays remain pressing challenges, Tice sought to position Reform as a party prepared to back builders, support regeneration and move faster on planning.
The headline was simple: trust the developer, support the SME builder and get Britain building again.
