Sam Webber

Senior Counsel

What brought you to JBP?

I have worked in political communication and public affairs for over ten years starting out as an intern to former Liberal Democrat frontbench spokesperson Sir Simon Hughes in 2002. I graduated with a politics degree from the University of East Anglia in 2006. Working for an agency on a range of different client accounts is always something that appealed to me in my two previous roles at Vuelio and at PoliticsHome.

Tell us about your role

I work on a number of our key accounts assisting with political communication, parliamentary engagement and media promotion. I enjoy working with clients both large and small, assisting with their political engagement and delivering on their key objectives. As in previous positions, this role also includes engaging with politicians from a range of political parties in the House of Commons, the House of Lords and in local Government.

What is your skillset?

Helping client campaigns achieve their public affairs ambitions. I am passionate about the UK’s political system, so working on major campaigns with engage with politicians locally and nationally is always rewarding. I also use social media to get a client’s message across and have found this an increasingly important tool in outreach and awareness raising.

What do you do in your spare time?

My wife and I have two nursery age daughters so they take up most of my spare time. Otherwise I enjoy keeping in touch with family & friends, walking and campaigning on local issues in my community in South East London. I also enjoy travelling to the USA to visit family there.
